Accountability

As part of an application process, I was given the following brief.

Brief: We would like you to script a 2-3 minute animation (approx. 450 words) that will engage people on what Accountability is and why it’s important. Don’t feel you need to cover off all the content. Here are the outcomes we’d like the animation to achieve:

  • Get them to recognise accountability as a key skill they can work on improving
  • Help them think about accountability in a new way and know what it takes to get right
  • Feel engaged throughout the video, do something differently as a result, and want to learn more

Your audience:

  • Think of a middle manager in a large organisation of 10,000 + people (we often work with 50,000+ employee organisations)
  • They have been with the organisation for an average of 9 years.
  • The organisation is going through a performance transformation and middle managers are the crunch point. They feel overworked and they are time poor
  • The middle manager is the key person to unlock the performance and culture change.

Walking the Talk digital tone of voice:

  • Conversational, friendly, sometimes quirky
  • To the point and pragmatic

An excerpt from their facilitated session was provided, along with an outline of their brand identity.

Outcome:

Feedback was excellent on this submission, with the recruiter stating that the brief had been met “perfectly”.
